It made me want to say “Hi, Oppo.”
My girlfriend was like, “you don’t have a manual, why did you lie?”
“Because I want to keep my fucking five star rating.”
Nonetheless, special order manual C-Class from when they almost stopped producing them? Respect.

How does auto stop-start work with a manual? That sounds miserable.

My guess is that it doesn’t have it. He had a 2012. I asked him if he was going to sell it, but he said he planned to drive it until it died.

I know at least on some cars, it shuts off when you let your foot off the clutch in neutral at a stop, and turns it back on when you press the clutch in.
Or something like that.

You can see the auto-start defeat button to the left of the shifter. At least that’s what it looks like.

I like manuals almost as much as the next Oppo. But for a non AMG Merc, just get the auto. Unless it’s awful.

My coworker has a manual 991 GTS. It’s triggered by the clutch pedal instead of the brake.

Yup, both mine work that way.

It shuts off when you are stopped in neutral and let the clutch out and then starts again the moment you touch the clutch.

That’s exactly how it works.

I had a manual B-Class as a rental in Germany, it was delightful.

I almost got a used stick shift C-class instead of my FiST a few years back. I stand behind my decision. But it wasn’t an awful option...

I associate them mostly with cab drivers in northern Spain, but I’d still like one.
